What's on the bench
"Pursuit", the first work to come out of the studio (pictured above and below) is already in production. This work is very difficult to reproduced due to the amount of detail involved. There are only a handful of foundries in the country who work at this level (as reflected in the price). The work consists of 24 individual molds and involves many hours to reproduce. It is cast in high quality bronze and mounted on a hardwood base. The work measures approximately 10.5" h x 12" l x 5" w. There will be a series of 15 casts for this piece (with serial numbers 1 and 2 sold and no. 3 reserved). Number 4 has been produced and is ready to ship. Subsequent castings will take approximately 18 months to produce. Once the run is completed, the molds will be destroyed, never to be reproduced again. If interested in purchasing Pursuit, please contact us for details.
We are a small studio located in Central Florida with the belief that fine art is for everyone. At Barbaro Sculpture Studio, we work to created beautiful and meaningful art from the simple to the complex that will inspire and enrich people's lives and be enjoyed for many years. When something leaves the studio, it will only be of the highest quality in workmanship and materials. All our works are hand sculpted in clay and then sent out where molds are created and the bronze castings and finishing process begins. All our sculptures are copyrighted and a certificate of authenticity accompanies each work.
There are several projects in the works. A series of 2 marine life pieces; a Mako shark (which is already at the foundry for a casting in bronze) and a Manta Ray which is still being sculpted. If you know anything about these species of amazing creatures you will understand why we started with these. (Also I promised our granddaughter Alyssa I would make her a shark) At the moment we plan to have each work cast and then finished to a high polish, perhaps a nickel plating and mounted on a simple black acrylic base. The inspiration for this style was the sleek, chrome art deco desktop propeller airplanes created during the 40's. The Mako will be cast in a 7" long version however other sizes are planned for the future in different finishes. See "On the Bench" below for photos.
